Only from high above can you can see the twisting, turning paths that make up The River Maze, opening Saturday in Ocoee, Tenn.
This year's design pays homage to the Ocoee River. Visitors wind their way through "whitewater rapids" before losing themselves in the "mountains."
"It's an amazing place and a challenge to go through," said farm owner Joe Fetzer. To make the trip a little easier, cell-phone technology is allowed.
Nearby, a large pumpkin has been carved out of the nearby soybean field for another adventure.
New this year is the Hootin' Hollow spooky trail, which will be open Friday and Saturday evenings in October.
"We'll have critters and other folk out there working to get thrills from those who walk the trail," Fetzer said. "On the way back, you'll take a hayride through the back 40 and get ready for more thrills."
There'll be fun for little kids in addition to the maze, hayrides and Hootin' Hollow. Younguns can take a ride on the cow train or milk Sparky, a homemade cow. Live goats will be rounded up for feeding, too.
