Riverview merchants plan Holiday Hoop-La

Shoppers will find food, fun and special savings at Riverview merchants when Holiday Hoop-La starts Thursday. The three-day fundraiser benefits the Mary Cameron Robinson Foundation, which aids local residents in the fight against eating disorders.

Giveaways include a $500 gift certificate from Susanna's, a clothing boutique, as well as drawings for merchandise from Lambs & Ivy, The Grape Basket, Vine Street Bakery and Studio La Vie.

Festivities will begin Thursday with extended hours for all merchants from 6 to 9 p.m.

On Nov. 6-7, stores will be open regular hours, but "we'll continue to support the MCR Foundation," said Heather Corley, Shops at Riverview representative.

"We pick a different organization every year," she said. "And this is the first year we've worked with (MCR ). I like that they're a local organization and all their funds stay here in our community."

The foundation was established following the 2005 death of "Cammy" Robinson, whose battles with bingeing, bulimia and anorexia took her life at age 26.

Most stores will donate 10 percent of sales accrued over the three-day event to the foundation, Corley said.

Here's a list of happenings at Shops at Riverview.

* The Clay Pot: Special events on Thursday night will include holiday photos with a "sexy Santa" and free "Dirt from The Clay Pot" T-shirts to the first 50 customers. During the weekend, take part in the Count the Cranberries Contest for a chance at a $150 gift certificate.

* Lula's: Enjoy appletinis and drawings from the disco ball for 10 to 30 percent discounts. Reusable bags will be given away with each purchase to be used at the Save a Bag/Save Some Green sale in January.

* Charlotte's Web: A Champagne and Pearls celebration features Maximal Art Jewelry. A complementary strand of pearls will be given away to the first 50 customers Thursday.

* Cynthia Howell Stationery & Gifts: A Letters to Santa party begins a new venture of in-store parties to be hosted throughout the season, as well as a chance to win gift certificates from $50 to $100.

* Encore Consignment Boutique: A Deck the Walls party unveils new vignettes of designer clothing and accessories on the walls, with an opportunity to win a $100 gift certificate.

* Bellies & Babies: Trunk show by Notably You, which specializes in custom-designed gifts.

* Affordable Botox of Chattanooga: For $10, buy a $25 coupon to be used toward Latisse for eyelashes, Botox or Juvederm (one per customer).
