“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2” is slated to be one of the holiday’s hottest video game releases. If you’d like to snag a copy as soon as possible, head to Gamestop at 9 p.m. Monday.

All area Gamestop locations are hosting launch events for the game. Copies will be sold beginning at midnight, with all locations remaining open until all customers have been served.

Gamestop anticipates about 2 million units of the game to ship through preorders alone, a company representative said.

“Modern Warfare 2” continues the story of the first-person-shooter “Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare,” which led game-of-the-year listings in many indus try publications in 2007.
