A "Fall Musical Showcase" tonight at Bryan College will spotlight student, alumni and faculty performances.
"The music reflects a spectrum of styles that range from grand opera to Broadway," said Dr. Mel R. Wilhoit, director of Bryan's Music Department. "This concert will show what talent we have and have helped produce. For a small school, we're doing some amazing things."
The Bryan Chorale and Women's Chorus will sing some of the great opera choruses, including "The Anvil Chorus" from "Il Trovatore" and the "Triumphal March" from "Aida."
Senior music major Kimberly McKennett will perform a movement from the Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1 with orchestral accompaniment. The concert also will spotlight soloists Kimberly Keck, David Luther and Kelley Stultz.
Special guest is Dan Snyder, former Bryan student and acclaimed dramatic tenor soloist from New York City. He will sing operatic arias, including "Nessun Dorma" from "Turandot."
The performance at Rudd Auditorium on the Dayton, Tenn., campus begin at 7:30. Admission is free. For more information, call 423-775-2041.
