Downtown merchants are decking the halls for Thursday's Holiday Stroll in Dayton, Tenn.
The annual event blocks off a portion of Market Street and its intersections.
Shopkeepers are planning open houses between 5 and 9 p.m. with discounts, refreshments and prizes.
The Bryan College Children's Community Choir will be featured during the evening, and a concert at 7 p.m. will benefit Toys for Tots.
The YMCA Childcare Center, 1006 Market St., will offer child care and pizza for $3 per child. Advance notice is not required but is encouraged; call 423-775-5859.
Starting Nov. 13, merchants will observe Festive Fridays, with six weekly drawings for a $50 gift certificate.
The 2009 ornament sale features the historic Magnolia House. Ornaments are available for $20 from merchants and at the Rhea County Welcome Center.
The annual Horse & Carriage Christmas Parade and related activities are scheduled Dec. 5.
