Organizers of the Back Row Film Series will spread a feast of slow foods to accompany Thursday’s screening of “Tableland.”
The film follows award-winning producer Craig Noble on an odyssey across North America to demonstrate the need for an abundant, sustainable food system.
From the orchards of interior British Columbia, rural Quebec and other places where “slow food” is celebrated, chefs, farmers, writers, teachers and others showcase the production of tasty, local and seasonal food from field to plate.
“It’s a film filled with fun stories, entertaining facts and plenty of real down-home cooking,” according to press material.
It focuses on four issues: sustainability, economics and marketing, health and taste education, and eating locally and seasonally.
The screening starts at 6 p.m. at Loose Cannon Gallery, 1800 Rossville Ave. Following the film, audience members can sample locally produced food from TasteBuds Chattanooga partner restaurants and farms.
Cost for Thursday’s event is $15 per person, $10 for Arts & Education Council members.
Tickets may be purchased online at http://backrowfilms.com.
