One tank wonder: SIX FLAGS Over Georgia

* Hours: Open daily through mid-August, then weekends. Hours vary by day.

* Distance/fuel cost: Take I-75 South, to I-285 West, to I-20 West. Take exit 47 or 46A. Estimated fuel cost for 236 miles round trip at 20 mpg: $44.84.

* Admission: $39.99 adults, $29.99 (children under 48 inches, free for children 2 and younger.

* Parking: $15-$20 per day.

* Why it’s worth the trip: This is a full day of fun all in one place for kids of all ages. Youngsters will enjoy traveling with Thomas the Tank Engine around the Island of Sodor or taking a trip on the Dahlonega Mine Train. Older, taller kids will scream through a trip on Batman: The Ride. Parents can rest assured kids are in one place while walking through gift shops, enjoying the calmer rides or testing their endurance on rides like the Georgia Cyclone. Dine in at Panda Express, The Plantation House or one of more than 15 other establishments within the park.

* For the kids: The Web site, www.sixflags.com/overGeorgia, has a list of 40 fun things for kids, such as Tweety’s Clubhouse: a ride with Tweety while soaring above Bugs Bunny World. Check out the site for more entertaining adventures.
